Long Building Solutions’ pole sheds are designed, and purpose built to suit individual farming requirements. From certain height requirements to bay widths, metal or concrete floors, we ensure that the final product is finished for its intended purpose.
Whether the shed is designed and constructed for hay, feed, storage, calves or any other use, Long Building Solutions’ sheds can be built to a client’s requirements with as many bays as is required. We consult with our clients on farm to get a feel for what it is they require, and project manage the entire process, from plans and council submission through to excavation and construction.

Long Building Solutions’ works collaboratively with clients, on farm managers and farm advisors to develop and perfect a design that will meet all yard requirements and accommodate different animal handling procedures.
We consult with our clients on farm to get a feel for what it is they are require and project manage the entire process, including design and build of cattle yards, stables and woolsheds.
CALF HOLDING &
LOADING FACILITIES
Long Building Solutions’ has consulted local farmers, stock agents, and animal transporters to develop several designs for calf holding and loading facilities following the introduction of new young calf regulations that came into effect from August 2016.
Long Building Solutions’ calf holding and loading facilities adhere to Ministry of Primary Industry’s young calf regulations as well as Dairy NZ’s good practice guidelines for calf holding and loading facilities. The design of the facilities considers where the platform will be situated, wind direction, exposure and rain fall. Pen size can be designed to suit individual needs, largely dependent on farm size and calf numbers.
Long Building Solutions’ calf holding and loading facilities have a moveable pen on skids, allowing the option of storing the facility away from adverse weather during spring and moved into position immediately before the transporter truck arrives.
We work alongside clients and their transporter and carry out an on-farm visit to discuss the required design and optimal placement to ensure the facility is fit for purpose, accessible and safe for both people and calves.
